GirlsEyeView (GEV) offers a supportive and creative space for young women to express themselves through photography and creative writing.

We have 2 GEV sites: Amherst and Ware, MA.

In Amherst we shoot with black and white film and manual cameras, develop our prints in the darkroom, write stories and poems, share our ideas about important issues, and laugh! We're open to 7th-9th grade girls and utilize the fantastic darkroom at Amherst Regional High School.

In Ware we do all of that too, but using digital cameras and Photoshop. Our program is open to girls in middle and high school as well as those who are not in school. We have access to a computer lab at Ware Junior/Senior High School.

Both groups exhibit work several times a year in our schools and in downtown spaces.
