5/15 Video Vanguards Screening @ Hampshire College

How does the media influence our perceptions of society and each other? Who controls our spending patterns? How are artists, communities, individuals actively resisting patriarchy, corporate control and other methods of oppression? VV’s spring work explores these and other questions.

5/21 Deceptive Reality, GirlsEyeView Ware Exhibit @ Ware Town Hall
5-7pm: The Great Hall
Deceptive Reality explores the many ways in which we perceive ourselves and our communities. From the abstract to the documentary, these images express the changing nature of how we see the world and of our reality itself.

6/3 GirlsEyeView Amherst Exhibit @ Food For Thought Books
5-7pm, during the Amherst Art Walk
GEV photographers will unveil their postcard project (for sale!) as well as brand new works by our middle school members.

6/13 Storefront Art LAUNCH ~ a C3 project ~ www.commonwealthcenter.org
7pm: Northampton space TBA, during Arts Night Out
The Commonwealth Center for Change launches its Storefront Art Project with a cabaret-style evening of art. Video Vanguards joins in with a video installation of some of their new works.

Two exciting collaborations are underway for murals ~ with the Dance Theatre Ensemble of Amherst Regional High School and with the Public Art Commission for a Parking Garage mural. Stay tuned for more information about these mural projects ...
